Women Infants Children (WIC)

Buffalo and Pepin County residents are served by the Buffalo-Pepin WIC Program, headquartered in Alma.

WIC is a preventative health and nutrition education program for:

  •     women (pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum)
  •     infants
  •     children under 5 years of age

WIC serves families who are at or below 185% of the federal poverty level.


The program provides

  •     nutritious food
  •     nutrition education
  •     health screening for growth, anemia, and blood lead levels
